There is something about changing seasons that just wears a doggie out.

Napping Through the Snow in a One Dog Open Bed
Wake her when it’s really spring. Or suppertime.
What Do You See?
This isn’t a psychological test. I don’t think. What do you see in this first step of a watercolour painting? Anything?
Carolyn sees a basset hound coming in for a kiss. See it? Ha! Now you can’t un-see it! Slurp!
Pretty Beagle
Nosy Beagle wanted to see what was in the box of old things. It’s funny what can slip over your head when you stick it in a box. So glamourous!
Ellie
Ellie is the dog of Judy’s niece. This painting is one of a series of seven that were painted for the nieces and nephews this year. Who wouldn’t love a portrait of their favourite non-human person?
Carmelo
Carmelo, adopted in October, was the spark that set Judy off on a mission to paint the pets or passions of her nieces and nephews. He was very small, very sleepy and very cute. That’s a memory to put on the wall forever.
Nap Snatch
Azu loves her box of blankets downstairs so much! She snatched an opportunity for a nap but then everyone went upstairs. Sigh.

A Christmas Gift Made by Judy
J.K. remembers good times at his grandma’s, lounging on beanbag chairs that were special just for the kids. But he thought a man-sized chair – with footballs! – would be a better, grown-up wish for Christmas. Judy spent hours cutting out and sewing the football patches, making the bag, and pouring the foam balls full of static into the giant bag. As often happens, it wasn’t supposed to be such an undertaking… But J.K. is very happy and he now watches every football game from the beanbag, parked right in front of the t.v. Carolyn is happy too, because if the game goes badly it is not so easy for J.K. to spring up and endanger the screen. Much of his reaction is used up trying to get his butt out of the beans 🙂
Second Christmas Gift from the Studio
This one is another summertime memory captured by Carolyn, this time a sleepy sunshine moment on the drive home from a great adventure. This pair of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels is tired, comfortable and content after a day of mountain exploration. What a good day. This was a gift for their owner, of course.
