Hydrangeas in Brusho

Ink and watercolour work really well together if you like the control of the pen contrasted with the wild explosion of the Brusho.  These are very loosely likened to hydrangea.  The idea was not to get to caught up in drawing a realistic flower (that’s hard, with all those 3D petals going off in different directions!).  It’s the variation in colour that provides the depth, and the looser it is the more effective it is.  IMG_0406.jpg

Uh oh, control issues are seeping in… look at that detailed butterfly and the attempt at a real arrangement!  Sigh.  Keeping it simple is hard.IMG_0416.jpg
