Bonspiel Thaw

A mid-January chinook and thaw is not unusual for the Peace Country.  This year was no exception: a fantastic mirage accompanied a slow but sure warm up.  For hours the hills rose and fell, breaking into strange formations and silently shimmering.  It is quite a phenomenal spectacle.
