Practicing Trees

imageWe’re still practicing trees at the Lodge. They are difficult to paint, even though we see them every day. Somehow we form an idea of how they look and it becomes an almost unbreakable habit in our artwork. Judy finally imposed a rule: you can’t stop painting a branch until it runs off the paper. This helped a lot.

    Yeah, someone imposed that rule when we were drawing lines in Drafting class, but as soon as we got that sorted out, they gave us bigger paper.
