Northern Living

Actually, this is more of the work of the Outdoor Ed. class, featured in yesterday’s post.  Here is the roomy outdoor bathroom, a great selling point as a feature of this classic Canadian ice home.  It’s style reminds me of a bomber hat, so it ought to be very warm.

You can see how the snow is thick and easy to cut in to nice blocks.  Winds have carried snow across the field and off the edge of the track where there is a steep drop off.  It has gathered for several months, settling slowly and firmly until it is deep and solid.  The kids have had plenty of building material for several snow huts and the facilities on the hill.
