Judy felted a couple of beautiful cobweb scarves for Christmas gifts. None for Carolyn… just saying. The wool is alpaca and merino, as soft as down and light as cobwebs. The red one has sequins for a little extra glam; the black and white one has a fringe.
Cobweb wet felting is a technique that requires a fine touch because the fibres are aligned with a lot of space between them. Like a spider’s web, the fibre is delicate but strong. The result is a scarf that feels as lovely as silk against the neck and is warm as well.
