Bright Beauty

Fall is the shortest season here but it certainly makes one sit up and notice it.  When crops turn and summer colours are muted, here come the bright autumn hues to warm us for just a little longer.


Just after I got the shot the whole pile of leaves blew away. Quick draw photography!


The jewel colours of the leaves play nicely against the cool background colours in the stump. This is the sort of contrast I like best about fall: hot and cold, bright and dull, soft and sharp.


This is in the campground at Moonshine Lake. We haven’t got many red trees here in Western Canada, but the undergrowth often has its share of ruby tones.


Lots of colour.


Still some green, too! After all, it is only September…
