Lake Azouzetta

In the Rockies there’s a lake, a beautiful lake for me 🙂

We had Lake Azouzetta to ourselves again this year.  We paddled crystal waters to the far end, had a bracing swim beside the mountain stream, picked huckleberries from the island and got caught in the rain.

This painting was a surprise.  Each time I added a layer the colours and mood changed just as the real view altered with transient cloud cover.

DSCF7128PS: the horizon is straight.  I just didn’t hold the paper properly while I took the picture.  If the horizon dips, the viewer’s eye slides uncomfortably out of the picture… whoops!
