It has been fairly cold up here in the north. Today is a balmy -26 C, but just up the road temperatures are somewhere around -40C. Combined with the snow, it makes outdoor excursions with the dogs quite short. One of their favourite snoops is a sniff up the alley. Dogs, cats, and deer wander through in the night, and once John even found a rabbit. Our alley is a crazy collection of fences old, new and in between. Covered in hoar frost, they approach harmonious eccentricity and even a sort of stiff, stark winter beauty. What’s up your alley?
