Last Rays

It’s just after the solstice, still one of the shortest days of the year, and of course here in the north there are plenty of places that don’t receive much sunlight all winter.  Today we were on the south side of the lake, in a frozen wonderland from which we could see the north side basking in the warm rays of a chinook sunset.  Still, a few precious beams did manage to filter through the trees.
